Loudon, NH, September 22, 2019 — Marc-Antoine Camirand scored a strong fifth-place finish, on Saturday, as the NASCAR Pinty’s series was on track for its only event in the US, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Camirand has been patient to bring his GM Paillé n°22 Chevrolet Camaro to the top five on the Magic Mile.

Camirand has been able to score the fourth quickest time in practice on Friday afternoon, then he qualified in ninth place for the Visit New Hampshire 100 on Saturday morning. The driver was confident that 22 Racing team would continue to work to improve the car’s handling.

“We really fought hard during the whole event and during the race. My car was oversteering at the beginning, but when the first yellow came out, we went to pits for some fuel and my team made some adjustments,” told Camirand.

The driver of the GM Paillé n°22 Chevrolet Camaro was patient and was able to gain a few spots, running just outside the top five. He took the fifth spot after an incident happened at the end of the race.

Camirand was relieved to achieve a good result on an oval track, where he struggled most of the season. “We had a strong top five and we are very happy about it. We worked hard, we had a good strategy and it paid off,” he stated.

After having encouraging results at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and at Autodrome St-Eustache, he hopes to carry this good sequence to the last race of the season next weekend.

“Randy (Steckly) and the whole team did a very good job this weekend. We are finally going in the right direction, and we can feel a better atmosphere among the team. We will continue to finish strong at Jukasa.”

Marc-Antoine Camirand and the GM Paillé n°22 Chevrolet Camaro will be back in action for the last race of the season in the NASCAR Pinty’s series, next weekend, at Jukasa Motor Speedway.
