Milverton, ON – Monday, September 26, 2022 – Kyle Steckly finished 4th in the final event of the APC United Late Model Series 2022 season on Saturday evening.
Kyle Steckly and his No. 22 APC Auto Parts / CANUSA / Qwick Wick Chevrolet Camaro raced at Delaware Speedway on Saturday night in the Castrol Great Canadian 100. Kyle was fast in practice but unable to qualify due to mechanical issues. The 22 Racing team and many other generous teams got to work repairing the car and were able to resolve the issue, but since Kyle was unable to qualify he was forced to start the race at the back of the field. Starting last in this 100-lap feature, Kyle quickly began working his way up through the field passing 25 cars and finishing 4th.
“We had a good APC Auto Parts Qwick Wick Camaro at the season finale at Delaware Speedway but unfortunately we had ignition issues which led us to miss qualifying. We got it fixed for the race and made a charge from the back and made it up to fourth. We just needed a bit more time or a caution to see if we had something for the top three. A huge thank you to all of the teams that offered up parts or a hand to get us back out there! Congrats to Shae Gemmel on the win and JR Fitzpatrick on the championship,” Kyle said.
Kyle and the team had an amazing rookie year and finished 2nd in the championship points standings behind veteran JR Fitzpatrick.
