MILVERTON, ON, Wednesday April 4, 2018: Donald Theetge is excited to announce today that with the assistance of sponsors Mercedes-Benz St Nicolas and Circuit Acura he will contend for the 2018 NASCAR Pintys Series Championship. Initially Theetge signed up to race in the nine oval events but with backing from his great sponsors, he will now contend for wins on both the ovals and the road courses.
“I can’t tell you how happy we are to have Donald racing for us in all 13 events this year,” said team owner Scott Steckly. “He is a great competitor and very methodical in his approach and should be a force to be reckoned with in all of the events. I fully expect he will be in the hunt for the 2018 NASCAR Pintys Series Championship when the final checkered flag falls in September.”
In 2017, Donald had two near misses for wins and in 2018 he hopes to again contend for those wins and more to add to his racing resume. He also looks forward to a return to New Hampshire Motor Speedway as the NASCAR Pinty’s Series makes its debut at this track in September; the first time the series has competed outside of Canada. He has raced there in the ACT series three times over his career most recently in 2016.
“I am so thrilled to get to race in all thirteen races this year with Scott and his team,” said Donald Theetge. I know I can win in this series with the great equipment 22 Racing gives me and I want to prove it after last year. The 2018 NASCAR Pinty’s Series is made up of thirteen events across Canada from Nova Scotia to Alberta. Donald Theetge est fier d’annoncer sa participation à l’entièreté du championnatde la série NASCAR Pintys2018, grâce à ses commanditaires Circuit Acura et Mercedes-Benz St-Nicolas. Initialement, Donald Theetge avait signé avec 22 RACING pour les neuf courses sur circuitsovales, mais soutenu par ses commanditaires, il aura la chance de se battre tant surcircuits routiersque sur circuits ovales.
« Je ne peux pas vous dire à quel point nous sommes heureux que Donald prenne part aux 13sorties avec nous cette année», a déclaré le propriétaire de l’équipe, Scott Steckly. « Il est un important compétiteur et il est très méthodique, ce qui seraune force sur laquelle nous pourrons compter lors de chaque sortie. Je m’attends à ce qu’il soit dans la course au championnat de la série NASCAR Pintys 2018 lorsque le dernier drapeau à damiers tombera en septembre.»
En 2017, Donalda frôléla victoire à deux reprise et en 2018, il espère à nouveau se battre pour récupérer ces victoires et en ajouter bien d’autres à son curriculum vitaede courses automobiles. Il espère également un retouren forceau New Hampshire Motor Speedway oùla série NASCAR Pintys ferases débutsen septembre, pour la toute première course à l’extérieur du Canada. Le pilote de 51 ans y acouru à trois reprisesavec la série ACT au cours de sa carrière, la dernière foisen 2016.
« Je suis vraiment ravi de pouvoir participer aux treize courses avec Scott et son équipecette année», a déclaré Donald Theetge. Avec l’équipement que me fournitl’équipe 22 Racing, je sais que je peux gagner dans cette série et je veux le prouver, surtout après l’année dernière. Je dois un grand merci à mon frère et partenaire d’affaires, Benoit Theetge, ainsi qu’à mes commanditaires Mercedes-Benz St-Nicolas et Circuit Acura. Sans eux, je n’aurais pas la chance de réaliser ce rêve.»
La série NASCAR Pintys 2018 comprend treize épreuves au Canada, de la Nouvelle-Écosse à l’Alberta. La saison débute au Canadian Tire Motorsport Park pour l’événement Victoria Day Speedfest présenté par Castrol, les 19 et 20 mai prochains.
