Milverton, ON, CANADA – Thursday May 12, 2022    –  The NASCAR Pinty’s Series takes to the track for the first event of 2022 this weekend at Sunset Speedway with The NTN Ultimate Bearing Experience 250. The highly anticipated season gets underway on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the 1/3 mile paved oval located in Innisfil, Ontario.

22 Racing is pleased to field two Pinty’s teams this season featuring Alex Tagliani who lapped the entire field before crossing the finish line to win at Sunset Speedway in 2015, and the 2021 Jostens Rookie of the Year Treyten Lapcevich who finished 4th and 9th at Sunset Speedway last year. 

It was a very busy winter for the 22 Racing team preparing the cars for the upcoming season, but they are ready to get the No. 20 RGC / Qwick Wick / FBM Chevrolet Camaro and the No. 18 Viagra / St. Hubert Chevrolet Camaro out on the track and win some races.

Race day kicks off with practice at 12:30 p.m on Saturday followed by qualifying taking place from 5 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.. Autograph session on the track will run from 5:40 p.m. – 6:20 p.m.. Driver introductions are scheduled at 6:35 p.m. with the NTN Ultimate Bearing Experience 250 going green at 7 p.m..

The race will be 250 laps (83.325 miles), with a planned pit stop around halfway for the teams to fill up on fuel and get 4 new tires. 

The full NASCAR Pinty’s Series season will again be broadcasted on TSN and RDS2 in Canada and MAVTV in the United States. Race fans in Canada can also watch NASCAR Pinty’s Series races LIVE on TSN.ca and the TSN app. Additionally, races will be streamed live on Flo Racing. 

This season the NASCAR Pinty’s Series races on oval tracks and road courses in Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. In addition to the Pinty’s cars, the 22 Racing Team is also fielding driver Kyle Steckly with the No. 22 APC Auto Parts / CANUSA / Qwick Wick Pro Late Model. Kyle will run in the weekly Delaware Speedway Series as well as the APC United Late Model Series.

Kyle’s season begins Friday, May 13 at Delaware Speedway with the 70th Season Opener at the track. Racing begins at 7:30 p.m. with the Pro Late Models running a 35 lap feature. In his Delaware Speedway debut in 2021, Kyle finished 7th out of 30 cars. He is eager to get back to the track and see what the 2022 season has in store for him.
